Kitesurfing for people with disabilities

I’ve asked a few expert sitkiters how suitable are our kitesurfing cruises for a disabled kiter: here below you can find their opinion. Fernando Fernandes, cabrinha pro rider, after a short brainstorming confirmed that the stairs are the only problem, but with a bit of help carrying a sit kiter up and down (5/6 times per day I would say), it should work. Our cabins are all in the main deck, so that is practical: it means that the sit kiter would need to go to the lower deck just to get ready for kiting… I’ve had recently a quick call with Willem from the Willem Hooft Foundation, about the possibility of testing our kite cruises with an extended groups of sit kiters. Here is what we discussed:
  1. Possibility of organizing a small kite cruise camp for sit kiters (not more than 6, for logistic reasons, cause it’s best to keep the sit kiters on our upper deck).
  2. Willem Will come and test our kite cruises anytime this year, to check how doable it is.
I will keep you updated if this kind of project will work out. We brainstormed a little and we think that is doable, and my feeling is that it is actually very doable.
