Shared Medium Deck Cabin - 1050€ per Person

Single Cabin upgrade for a Kite Safari – All you need to know

First of all, a clarification: if you are planning to join one of my kite safaris on your own, you are not required to book a private cabin. Sharing a cabin with another kiter of the same sex is always an available option. We do not sell entire cabins to solo travelers by default – what we offer is a bed in a shared cabin for two people. Below, I explain the cost of upgrading to a single cabin, why it can make sense for some people, and why for many others it doesn’t.

THE COST

This is usually the very first question solo travelers ask when considering one of my kite cruises. The single cabin upgrade costs 600€ on top of the regular cruise price. At the moment, a kite safari with us costs 1050€, which means that upgrading to a single cabin represents more or less a 50% increase over the base price of the trip. It is an extra cost, but it’s not crazy expensive.

WHY IT MAKES SENSE

If having your own personal space is a priority for you, then a single cabin is the only real option. The mai, and in my opinion, the only true advantage, is privacy. You have the cabin entirely to yourself, with no need to coordinate schedules, lights, or storage with anyone else. For some guests, especially those who value solitude or need quiet time, it could make sense.

WHY IT DOESN’T

If you are comfortable sharing with another kiter, the question is: why spend the extra money? About 95% of our guests choose to share once they understand the price difference. Life on board is relaxed, cabins are spacious & comfortable, and the atmosphere is friendly and easygoing. After talking it with me, most people realize that while a single cabin is nice, it is not something they actually need, and sharing works perfectly fine.

Another important point is that we simply don’t spend much time in the cabins. Most of the day is spent kiting, relaxing on deck, eating together, or socializing. So the question I always ask is: does it really make sense to spend an extra 600€ for a space you’ll mainly use just to sleep?

I love kitesurfing, travelling, and making short walks with my dog. I organize kite cruises in Egypt since 2014, you may find me in some windy beach pretty much all year round when I’m not on the boat, may it be Egypt, Cape Verde, Mauritius or Greece. I drink red wine and play (badly) the guitar. You can contact me at +201009410388 (whatsapp or calls) or just email me at [email protected] Hope to see you on board one of these days!
