Safari Kite (or is Kite Safari?)
A Safari Kite is a week-long trip where with our yacht we explore different islands of the Red Sea. The term „Safari“ reflects the traveling part of the trip, where we see different spaces, like a classic African animal safari. „Kite“ is because this particular trip is obviosly meant for kitesurfing practitioners. Safari Kite or Kite Safari are actually the same idea – I find the terminology „Kite Safari“ is for sure more used worldwide. Safari Kite can sound a little unusual, but it emphasizes the wandering & exploratory aspect of the trip, whereas Kite Safari emphasizes the kitesurfing experience.
This distinction can sometimes be confusing. For example, someone might think that a “Kite Safari” involves traveling between spots using a kite itself, which is not the case. The focus is on exploring multiple locations while kitesurfing at each one. So I guess that, even if less commonly used, Safari Kite is a slightly more accurate choice of words – but, for the time being, let’s stick to the more recognized Kite Safari.
As you may have noticed, this article is super boring – if you have any idea for a nice article that I could write, please contact me and suggest me a topic. Thanks!
