Is the Iran-Israel Conflict Affecting Kite Safaris in Egypt?

The Middle East has been a region of constant conflict for over 40 years, and with the recent escalation of events, in this case obviously the recent start of the Iran-Israel war, I’m often asked the same question: Is this conflict affecting kite safaris in Egypt?

The short and simple answer is: No.

Egypt, and especially the Red Sea region where my kite safaris operate, remains safe and stable. The kite spots are far away from the hotspots of tension, and Egypt is disconnected from the political dynamics between Iran and Israel.

Tourism in Egypt remains strong and uninterrupted. Airports are open, kite safaris are still running, and the wind continues to be on. I’m writing this from the Heaven Liberty, just after dinner, anchored at South Geisum – one of my favorite kite spots.I’m at sea with my kiters, and I would be the first to cancel kite safaris if the situation weren’t safe.

I do understand though – It’s natural to be concerned. If you have more questions, doubts, or if you just want to have an update, simply contact me. I promise to answer.

I love kitesurfing, travelling, and making short walks with my dog. I organize kite cruises in Egypt since 2014, you may find me in some windy beach pretty much all year round when I’m not on the boat, may it be Egypt, Cape Verde, Mauritius or Greece. I drink red wine and play (badly) the guitar. You can contact me at +201009410388 (whatsapp or calls) or just email me at [email protected] Hope to see you on board one of these days!
