Why Egypt is not good for Kite Safari in Winter

Why Egypt is not good for Kite Safari in Winter

The simple answer is: there are better times to come for a Kite Safari in Egypt, apart from December, January and February. We stop all our kite cruises in winter, apart from our New Year Kite Cruise, that is a bit special cause it’s a Kite & Dive cruise. Let’s go into details: why it’s not the best time to kite with us.

IT’S COLDISH

A wetsuit is needed, and when it’s windy it’s kind of chilly. Don’t get me wrong, still very kiteable and enjoyable – but why come in January if already end of March it’s that much warmer?

WIND IS LESS PROBABLE

The chances of getting windy days, even at sea where conditions are much better than at land, are slimmer – we know it, and kiters know it, therefore there is less interest in coming for a kite cruise in Egypt. Therefore, it’s kind of silly to organize a kite safari. Better wait windier months.

THE TEAM GOES ON HOLIDAY

We need some time off from the boat – we love cruising and kiting, but maybe let’s do something different in Winter? I personally stay in Cape Verde in January, you are welcome to find me in the island of Sal!

Hope to see you on board in warmer months, we start back 22nd March 2025 and we go at sea pretty much every week!

I love kitesurfing, travelling, and making short walks with my dog. I organize kite cruises in Egypt since 2014, you may find me in some windy beach pretty much all year round when I’m not on the boat, may it be Egypt, Cape Verde, Mauritius or Greece. I drink red wine and play (badly) the guitar. You can contact me at +201009410388 (whatsapp or calls) or just email me at [email protected] Hope to see you on board one of these days!
