New Kites – What Should I Buy? Brainstorming with Myself…
It’s that time of the year, when Black Friday is coming and I feel like buying new kite gear for my kite safari (at this point, for the 2026 season). My goal is to have 20 brand new kites for next year, for lessons and rentals.
In an attempt to decide how to proceed, I will write down here which brands I’m considering and why. What drives my choice is: quality (of course), durability (a must in Egypt), and price.
CABRINHA
I’ve already got plenty of Cabrinha kites on board, and for good reasons: very user-friendly, durable, and affordable. But the valves have been failing constantly, with the main valve breaking several times in my hands. I understand that Egypt is hard on kites, but come on, a bit better quality would have been welcome…
AIRUSH
Love these kites. I have several Airush Union kites on board, and everyone loves them. The canopy is amazing, and the kite flies beautifully. But all valves (apart from the main valve) are breaking—not even ungluing, just breaking. It’s possible that newer models may have solved the issue, but can I risk it?
GONG
The price is great, and I saw a few on the beach, they seem like solid kites with a classic structure. True, the brand is not very popular, but I feel it’s because they focus very little on advertising. Could make sense…
BEST KITE
Is Best Kite returning to its former glory? This brand completely disappeared from the kitesurfing radar for years, but I had a good call with the guys in Tarifa and will probably go there in January to check their new collection. I may come back with a few kites…
If you have any idea or contact to send me for a good kite deal, let me know!
