Egypt Kite Safari vs. El Gouna Kitesurfing: Which One is Right for You?

Generally speaking, a Kite Safari is a better experience for a person that is very focused on learning and progressing this sport – it’s a very intensive kitesurfing week, and wind conditions are normally better during a kite safari than in El Gouna. A kite week in El Gouna is more for the casual kiters that wants to kite 1/2 days and is happy to spend the rest of the holiday by the pool of their hotel. Also, El Gouna offers a wider range of no wind activities (padel, motocross and clubbing for example), while the kite safari is more limited (wakeboarding, snorkeling & stand up paddle).

Let’s check in the table below which are the pros and cons of a Kite Safari vs. Kiting in El Gouna. We do not mention Hurghada, cause Hurghada is a worse kitesurfing destination if compared El Gouna, and El Gouna is just 30km north of Hurghada. There is no reason to kite in Hurghada, due to poor wind conditions and overall poor vibe of the town itself. If you want to kite, don’t spend time in Hurghada.

I love kitesurfing, travelling, and making short walks with my dog. I organize kite cruises in Egypt since 2014, you may find me in some windy beach pretty much all year round when I’m not on the boat, may it be Egypt, Cape Verde, Mauritius or Greece. I drink red wine and play (badly) the guitar. You can contact me at +201009410388 (whatsapp or calls) or just email me at [email protected] Hope to see you on board one of these days!
